This old girl was built by Ned Jack in Launceston in 1949. She is 30' long and has a beam just nudging 12', and draws only 2' - a good boat for a lake but not for the ocean! She was shipped up to Melbourne, then trucked to Lake Eildon and launched many years before the current dam was built. The original owner (Hugh Anderson, we believe) formed the Eildon Boat Club in this vessel with his mates, and she was the clubhouse for a number of years. Today the Boat Club is an impressive building on Anderson Harbour, and ARAWA is generating lots of happy family memories running out of Paynesville. Her current owner is Neville Smith. She will be at this great rally.
